Cassaundra Sanderson is an artist raised in Branson, Missouri. She graduated from College of the Ozarks with a BA in Fine Arts, emphasizing in Painting and Ceramics. She earned her Master of Fine Arts at the University of Arkansas School of Art in Fayetteville with her solo Thesis Exhibition, For Wintonbury, which included an accompanying collection of short stories.
Most recently, Cassaundra has had a solo exhibition of her series, The Little Blue Dollhouse, at Boger Gallery in Point Lookout, MO.
She has been in group exhibitions including: Master Pieces at Manifest Creative Research Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio; The Road Show at Arts Illiana Gallery in Terre Haute, Indiana; the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri's Regional Juried Art Exhibition in Cape Girardeau, MO; Intersections: A Month of Art and Performance Supporting Women at Stage Eighteen, Fayetteville, AR; Sketchbook West in Laguna Beach, CA; WomanMade: NWA in Bentonville, AR; An Undergraduate Thesis Exhibition in Point Lookout, MO; the White River Art Exhibition, Branson, MO; and the Taneycomo Bridge Art Exhibition at the Hilton Convention Center in Branson, MO.
During her time as the Director of sUgAR Art Gallery, she curated the exhibition, In Which We Dwell (2016), displaying the work of emerging artists: Hilary Baker, Tyler Beard, Andrew Blanchard, Adam Ekberg, Matthew F. Fisher, and Ron Lambert. In 2017, she curated Illogical Animus: A Survey of Artwork from Banned Countries, consisting of six International artists and spanning video, ceramics, glass powder installation, and painting.
Cassaundra is currently a Visiting Instructor of Drawing and Painting at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, Windgate Center of Art + Design. In addition to developing the Drawing and Painting areas at UA Little Rock, she is a member of the Reviewing Committee for BFA applicants and the Gallery Committee, reviewing and deciding on future exhibitions at Brad Cushman Gallery, The Small Gallery, and Ann Maners and Alex Pappas Gallery.
